The Teacup with Saucer and Lid is called esancai bei (三才杯). The lid stands for heaven, the saucer stands for earth and the cup stands for human. It expresses the traditional Chinese thought of the unity of man and nature.
The glaze is rich but not too moist, crystalline, and even, with a precious light within. The color is delicate and dynamic, with a ruby-like luster.
